Lee is a second generation native Charlottean. Her paternal grandfather was a founding member of Christ Episcopal Church where she has been a member since birth. Lee graduated from Charlotte Country Day School and attended The College of Charleston.

After moving back to Charlotte, Lee began a 20–year career in the restaurant business. She managed several restaurants including McZ's, Loafers, and Providence Cafe' and was part owner and manager of the popular South Charlotte restaurant Red Rock for five years. After taking some time off to start a family, Lee earned her Real Estate license from Superior School of Real Estate in 2006. She is a member of the Sheryl Hallow Team and joined HM Properties in early 2016.

Lee lives in the Cotswold neighborhood with her husband, Ed, and their son, Cutler (13), daughter, Mills (10), and their dog, Chester (15). She enjoys spending time at the beach, entertaining family and friends at home, and volunteering her time with the A.G. Middle School and Cotswold Elementary School.
