Carrie was born in Newton, New Jersey, but has lived in Charlotte most of her life. Her entire family lives here including her mom, dad, brother, sister in-law, two sisters, and nieces and nephews.

She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington and worked for the University Student Union throughout her time there. After graduating with a BS degree in Communication Studies, Carrie moved back to Charlotte and went to work her family's wine room and handled the marketing in addition to being a server. In 2008, she was hired by HM Properties to work in marketing and moved into her current role as office manager in 2014.

Carrie married her husband, Andrew, in October 2011. They met at the YMCA where he taught athletic conditioning classes. They are both athletes and enjoy running and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys spending time cooking and reading.
