Kim was born and raised in Kensington, Connecticut, and graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a B.S. in Japanese. Upon graduation, she moved to Japan and began a career in banking with Swiss Bank Corporation in Tokyo. After 2 years, she returned to the U.S. to attend the Wharton School of Business and earned an MBA. New York City banks beckoned, and Kim spent the next several years working in corporate finance and syndications.
In 1996, Kim and her family moved to Charlotte, and she left full-time employment to raise her two children. Between the car pool line, the baseball field and the tennis courts, Kim volunteered extensively with the Junior League of Charlotte and her children’s schools (Providence Day and Saint Gabriel). The desire for another international adventure led Kim and her family to France. During her nine years in Paris, she transitioned to a career in fundraising while working for the American School of Paris. She was very grateful for the opportunity to travel extensively, meet fascinating friends from every continent, and explore French culture and cuisine.
With her children grown and attending college in the US, Kim returned to Charlotte to be back among friends and family. It was the perfect time for Kim to devote herself full-time to her passion for residential real estate, and she was thrilled to join HM Properties.
Throughout Kim’s 20 years of business experience in the financial and fundraising sectors, she has honed her expert negotiating skills and developed a customer centric approach. Her hands-on care, reliability and discretion ensure that her clients will receive the highest standard of customized service.
In her off time, Kim enjoys playing tennis, running, reading, baking paleo cookies, and utterly spoiling her six-pound Yorkshire Terrier, Cokie.
