Susan Porter

"It is truly thrilling for me to listen to a clients wants and needs and then find just the right property that will become their home. Or, in the case of a seller/owner, representing them through the process and procedures of selling their house. It is not always easy, but it is always a close-up and personal transaction that involves confidence and trust in their agent. I appreciate my clients and their story. Additionally, if client needs are outside my areas of expertise, I work with the client to find the agent best suited for the situation."

Susan is a Carolina girl at heart and was born in Shelby, North Carolina, which is just west of Charlotte. Upon graduation from Meredith College she was hired as a buyer for Belk in Durham. After moving to Charlotte, she taught marketing in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system, volunteered in the community, and worked as an account executive for an advertising firm. In 2003, Susan earned her real estate license and began her career as a broker. She joined HM Properties in 2009.

Susan is married and has two married, adult children, two granddaughters and one grandson. She also loves her Cockapoo, Theodore Roosevelt (aka: Teddy). In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf, yoga and reading.
